Fifth Grade Pen Pal Project
This year I had the opportunity to help lead the junior and sophomore ELA students in a pen pal projects with the Lincoln elementary 5th grade student. We met with the 5th grade teachers and came up with a plan of actions. We collaborated and came up with various letter ideas that went out to the 5th graders once every month. As well as that, we also came up with different presentations for the classes, which a classmate and I went to Lincoln to present for them.
Special Olympics
Shown in the header photo is my Special Olympics volleyball team. I have been partnering for S.O. for four years now, and it has made such a difference in my life. Many of the athletes have become good friends, and it has been such a positive experience that I will continue for many years.
Dorthy Moses Mentoring
Although these service hours were for a class, the experience taught me so much. It helped show me a sample of my degree I am pursuing and I loved it. I went to Dorthy Moses Elementary school 3 times a week and ended the semester with over 60 service hours. I made valuable relationships with the students while I ate lunch and learned about them.
